School activities
Within the Social Universe program given to 4th grade-classes of Quebec, the pupils learn about the founders of New France. François de Laval, first bishop of Quebec, is among these.

The personnel of the Centre d’animation François-De Laval answer to schools’ invitations in the region of Quebec City to enrich kids’ learning about the founders of New France by presenting the bishop and his contemporaries. François was named an important historical figure of the Quebec society by the Cultural Heritage Act.
In class-activities
A 50-minute activity in your classroom on François de Laval and the New France era, with a PowerPoint presentation, costumes, and manipulation of objects. A great introduction, or conclusion, to the Social Universe program.
On-site activities
Along with the 50-minute presentation, schools that come to the Centre also get a guided-tour of the Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral, François de Laval’s funeral chapel, his first tomb, and the underground cemetery.
